Mike Holzknecht, Of Counsel to the Firm, received his civil engineering degree in 1980 from Washington University-St. Louis. After graduating, he worked in the construction industry as a project engineer before attending The University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School. He received his law degree and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1984. Mike had the privilege to serve as the Prosecuting Attorney for Hickory County, Missouri, from 1988 to 1992, and currently serves the people of Cedar County as Assistant Cedar County Prosecuting Attorney.

In over 25 years of practice, Mike has represented clients in Bates, Benton, Camden, Cass, Cedar, Dallas, Greene, Henry, Hickory, LaClede, Miller, Newton, Pettis, Polk, St. Clair, Vernon and Webster counties in Missouri, as well as Chicago, Illinois; Jacksonville, Florida; and Minneapolis, Minnesota, among other cities nationwide.

Mike's work experience and education as a civil engineer have proved invaluable to our clients, particularly in the numerous premises liability and product liability cases successfully handled by this Firm. Mike also represents individuals who have been seriously injured as a result of motor vehicle collisions, and handles claims against insurance companies for uninsured and under insured motorist coverage.

Mike is a member of the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, and continues his active involvement in the American Association for Justice and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.

Having been raised in a large family himself, Mike takes great pride simply in having the privilege of fighting for working families against those who refuse to accept responsibility for their carelessness. "All my clients know, when they need me, I will be there, whether it means stopping by their home on my way home from work, or calling them after office hours. I am proud that all my clients know that they can pick up the phone and call me at work or home anytime."

Mike and his wife, Leslie, who was raised in the Weaubleau/Collins area, live in Stockton. Their daughter and son graduated from Stockton High School. Their daughter attends Hunter College in New York City, and their son attends Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
